Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, with views toward the Adirondacks in the west and toward the Green Mountains in the east, Burlington (population 45,000) is Vermont’s largest and most vibrant city. The Church Street Market Place is an award-winning pedestrian mall with over 60 retails stores and more than 30 restaurants, in addition to street entertainers and cart vendors. ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain
“ECHO currently welcomes more than 167,000 visitors annually into a 34,500-square foot, award-winning LEED-certified facility. Through more than 100 interactive exhibits; 70 species of fish, reptiles, and amphibians; major changing exhibits; a 2,500-square foot early learning interactive space; ECHO encourages visitors to view the natural environment as part of their neighborhood and to explore, learn about, and consider opportunities for stewardship. Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour in Waterbury
The Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury is the only one open to the public. “The 30 minute guided portion of your Factory Experience begins with a quick MOO-vie to learn about our company culture followed by a short walk to our glassed-in mezzanine overlooking the production room floor where your tour guide will explain how we make our pints. To sweeten the deal you’ll also receive a sample of one of our chunks*.
